Not all the watches from that ere have "swiss" on the dial, I have seen a lot
of watches that haven't.
Why some have and other don't, I have no idea of the reason, if there was any.
unfortunately yours looks like a redial.

Because SWISS is missing? My father always said he never took watch in for
service at any time after he was original buyer. Thank you.
Thanks Jim. Now that I finally figured things out perhaps I will have other
posts. Cheers on this presumably wet and chilly day.
No, the IWC logo looks too dark and the automatic spacing at the bottom looks
off (uneven spacing). Maybe it's just the angle of the photo if you are sure
that no one has ever opened the watch.
