Why does SWISS not appear at 6 position? 1950. Only recently serviced for first time.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Congrats on this family piece.
Not all the watches from that ere have "swiss" on the dial, I have seen a lot
of watches that haven't.Why some have and other don't, I have no idea of the reason, if there was any.

Because SWISS is missing? My father always said he never took watch in for
service at any time after he was original buyer. Thank you. -

No, the IWC logo looks too dark and the automatic spacing at the bottom looks
off (uneven spacing). Maybe it's just the angle of the photo if you are sure
that no one has ever opened the watch. -
