Why is it special to you?

This weeks theme is Porsche Design by IWC. So lets see your favourite Porsche Design.

Every Friday I'll nominate a theme - contemporary, vintage, calibre, reference, complication, case, markers, lugs and even memorabilia and please tell us why it is special to you.

Easy one for me, pics taken from earlier discussion:

I can't do without a compass when travelling, and trips when I am bringing along any of collector pieces, I am to be found with a watch on each wrist. So having had this compulsion for a good number of years, and along comes my discovery of IWC, and I discover IWC and Porsche collaborated to make the first ever compass watch. Call it fate, design, what have you ...

I love all the iwc porsche design, but without doubt n° 1 is the ocean bund 3H REF. 3509 6645-12-197-9681
I wear this watch from july to september day and night, on the sea and on the mountains with an accuracy, in all this period, of + 15 seconds.....

The Ocean 2000 is special to me because it is so organic and tactile, like a smooth pebble found on the beach.

I guess I could list 101 things about IWC and Porsche Design (PD) that make these watches special.

But then one of the watches in my collection will always remain special to me. This one - seen here in the hands of "The Master" himself.

That night and the history lesson I had first hand from Herr Klaus make this a real special watch for me. And then not only because it's a wonderful bit of design and engineering, but also because of the fact that Bill was gracious enough to ensure that it reached me safe and sound.
