This weeks theme is "Mark". So lets see your favourite IWC designated a Mark whether it be 9, 10, 11, 12, etc

Every Friday I'll nominate a theme - contemporary, vintage, calibre, reference, complication, case, markers, lugs and even memorabilia and please tell us why it is special to you.

You don't even have to own the watch, just desire it or be something special to you. The series is in the Gallery section so please post images if possible (check the archive or search online).

Here's a 12, not mine, taken less than an hour ago at a local dealer. Since yesterday (Thurs) I had a pang of big-watches weariness and Andrew's pic his Mark 16 with the Son's Strap kept floating in my head. That, and the center-sweeping hacking second hand.

The Mark XVI Spitfire was the first IWC watch I purchased and my "official" entry into the IWC Collector's Forum. Like its predecessors in the IWC Pilot family of watches, it is rugged, anti-magnetic, easy to read, and has decent lume. It is still one of my sentimental favorites and my "go to" default watch. My Mark XVI Spitfire is usually the watch I wear when I travel because it goes through the various imaging devices without a worry of being magnetized. I think it was a perfect "first step" into the world of IWC!

Although I don't own a Mark, I must say the Mark XVI is my favourite by a mile. It looks great, be it the Classic or the Spitfire, has the right size on 39 mm, has quite unobtrusively an antimagnetic cage, and has a super reliable and accurate movement in the 30110, you could almost say: unfortunately not by IWC.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Of all the Mark 11s, this one is truly special to me. First because of her significant role in the history of civil aviation, and second because she is only one of four known BOAC Mark 11 of the first generation.i265.photobucket.com/albums/ii236/costadaguia/Mark11BOAC.jpg
