My aquatimer 3568 white dial is being delivered today and I wanted to know about the caliber 30110 crown and winding. Is it smooth or kind of rough like the IWC 3777? I just wanted to know ahead of time so I know what to expect from others that have this watch.
Ill answer my own question. Just got the watch and its really really smooth to wind. In fact its hard to even tell its being wound as you have to put it to your ear to hear it. Crown is perfect, not lose at all as well.
My only concern now is the quick release strap which makes a springy noise when pressing it in it before removing it. Not sure if that because the watch is pre-owned or that is how it works. I thought it would be silent.

I suppose it's rather difficult for anyone to comment on the "smoothness" of how a watch feels when winding. It really difficult to express, witness or describe such experiences here on the forum - because what is "smooth"?
One person may think a typical Aquatimer is "stiff" and hard to wind, while someone else winding the very same watch may think it's light and smooth.
That's why diagnosing functional and mechanical issues here is so difficult without inspecting the watch in person.
Perhaps someone with an Aquatimer Bracelet (I assume you mean bracelet, and not a strap with deployant, right?) can comment. If the watch is brand new, I would give it some time to break in - and some of the mechanical aspect of the bracelet mechanism will loosen up and the sounds you describe may go away...
Hello, thanks for your reply. I agree it is hard to get answers about mechanical questions on a forum. I just thought that IWC had a distinct wind like my Panerai does. As far as the strap, I think there is a small issue with mine. The quick release system has a spring and when I press to release the strap, I can hear clicking noises as the spring compresses and the strap gets hard to remove. After a few times on and off I can can get it to be quiet and become smooth. Might just have to buy a replacement rubber strap. Do you know of the best place to purchase an IWC OEM rubber strap?
