This original Portugieser was just uncovered and successfully acquired by a forum member. When it rains, it pours. Maybe the price will come down now that the market appears glutted? (just kidding)

It is a Calibre 74 watch that left Schaffhausen for Portugal in 1943.

    Regards,
    Michael

It is good to see these gems surfacing...

60 to 70 years after manufacture.

Maybe it is the holiday season or >>>

the economy or the new administration in Washington : ) that has lifted the embargo on these classic IWC's. It is a joy to see photos of these icons...perhaps one day we call see one up close and personal.

So thing really do come in threes

Recently on the Tuesdays Tour of the Archive I referred to Hans Goerter's discovery of an original Portugieser and less than three weeks later another two are rediscovered!

    Congratulations to the owners.

    Cheers from the cellar
