    Hi everyone,

I came across a caliber 83 from 1942, basing myself upon the serial (1067xxx). I'd like to know your opinion about it, especially about the dial and the logo. Someone told me it is unusual for a cal. 83 and more suitable for a cal. 88 or 89. What do you think about it? Thanks a lot.

Some picture of the watch while I was dismantling it:

Looks fine to me. When you do a search on the forum or on google, you will see similar logo's.

Tonny, thank you very much for your reply. No doubt the dial is genuine (Stern logo on the back) and no doubt also that kind of logo occasionally appeared on IWC dials. The question is to understand whether it appeared in small batches of cal. 83 in the 40's or it's a later replacement suitable to cal. 88. I've found a single example in the forum till now that shows a cal. 83 from the 40's with the same logo, a beautiful white dial in Bauhaus style with fancy lugs case. Can you post some other link or picture of similar cal. 83 with the same unusual logo? Thanks a lot.

WOW! A great example of a cal. 83 from 1937 with the uncommon logo over an art deco dial with a beautiful patina. I have a Levrette from the same period with a similar dial and love it. Thank you very much!!

Very nice indeed, even if the logo is the most common...

Done. Oiled and cleaned. Just wondering where to find a correct steel replacement for the plexiglas ring which, over the years, has been replaced with a rose gold spare.
