Great story, Mark. It is wonderful that a nice piece was properly restored using original IWC parts. Great job!

Your patience and persistence paid off from what I see. This is a beautiful addition to your collection. Thanks for going through the "step-by-step" with us, Mark...and a hearty congratulations!
Amazing perseverance to produce a brilliant result. A superb post.
Great story.
I'm actually doing something similar with a Cal. 73 I bought a long time ago. I took the risk because of its 14k gold case, but both my watchmaker at the time and MF told me it would be better to punt on it.
Thanks to a lead for a mainspring from Terry Russell, I found a new watchmaker who says we can make her run again. Stay tuned.
mark, wow that's got to be the most drastic transformation i've seen on the forum yet. congrats and well done for the perseverance!
best,
thang
Great restoration!
I like your great heart for IWC pocket watches.
(I don't want to know what amount of time and other ressources where necessary to rescue this timepiece)

Love that story Mark - big congrats. I especially like how the story and the "road" is so much part of the experience, not only the end result!
Happy for you bud!
Super clarity pictures.
Mark the PWs look lovely I admire the way you do it my friend, hope I ll be posting on something too really soon, (not on PWs though).
You´re a man after my own heart Mark, well done on taking the chance and getting away with it ;-)

Jimmy
