I've become a fan of B/W photography lately. Removing the color gives room for the story of the photo. I wonder how it works for watch photography. Does it stipulate the beauty of the watch or not? Looking at Kristoffer's photos I am inclined to conclude: yes.

It would be great to get an long list of posts with pictures of your watch(es) in B/W. Here is mine.

I am really looking forward to yours!

    Best wishes, Peter

hi peter great idea. black and white certainly helps amplify the exquisite detailing in a da vinci chronograph.

Thanks for the idea Peter, here are two pictures from my beloved Ingenieur 322701 I converted to B&W:

    sibon.triple-it.nl/images/stories/Ingenieur/322701_20101120_bw.jpg

Do you actually shoot in B&W? I haven't checked if my camera has this option.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Clemens - in reality, "shooting in b&w" means that the camera will do the conversion. The sensor is capturing rgb data - any b&w is a conversion. My feeling is that it's better to use software to do the conversion after the fact than to have the camera do it in real-time.

Very nice shots of your Inge.
