10 Year Anniversary - First IWC Collector's Meeting Schaffhausen

I really cannot believe its been 10 years since our first collector's meeting hosted by Michael Friedberg, George's Kern, Jacqueline Rose and other distinguished IWC staff.

I remember traveling from Dallas to Zurich where I met Larry Seiden at the gate - and just after takeoff, we swapped watches for several hours. We just me, and he was (or appeared to be) willing to let me wear his new 18k, Portuguese 2000 Cal 5000 7-day. Right after landing, I met Nelson Herring and Marco Schonenberger who gave us a fantastic tour of Zurich.

What an exciting 3 days of tours, dinners, conversation and beginnings of fond friendships. Happy Anniversary!

love it. I can recognize several collectors I have met ! testament to the fact that watch collecting and time keeping slows down time !

Good memories, Richard! The group of fanatics has really grown over the years. I'm looking forward to the next ten years!

Things have changed a lot since then.
Who would have thought back then the kind of impact IWC makes today.
Values remain the same though and I am glad to be part of this and fortunate to have met all these good friends.

It's always interesting to see photos with IWC's veterans!!!!
Even though my participation on these "collectors meetings" was only once at SIHH 2011, I have to say that I met wonderful people-minds there where changed my life in many ways!!

Wow. Ten years flies by. I started getting interested in fine timepieces right around this time. Good to see some of you guys have hung in there all this time.

It was such a wonderful time, even down to the legendary favorite watch contest for the magnum champagne... thanks, Rich, for reminding us of this event, and let's hope IWC might consider doing another event like it soon!

Wow - what a brilliant event - it was great to read the report ! Drinking magnums of champagne on the Reiger bank in the early hours of the morning - lets have such a fun collectors event again soon.
