Got an email from the Flagship Boutique for a preview of the Sidérale Scafusia, which will be in Hong Kong for today and tomorrow.

The back of the watch is definately as fascinating as the front.

Comparing size and comfort on wrist between the Sidérale with Portuguese GC would be more fair given they are both high complication.

You can see the size of tourbillon cage is much larger than that of 5044. The tourbillon cage of Sidérale is as big as a vintage mid-size Rolex!

Group photo of the day. With Portuguese Grand Complication on Shing's wrist while Sidérale on mine. Thanks Gary and Zack for the introduction!

Last but not least, season greetings to everyone!

Great watches, excellent photos. Thanks for posting.
Can't wait for the NYC Boutique to open in the spring. Perhaps Shing has already rented out a back room at the NYC location as well?? LOL
    Regards,

Wonderful supplement to the already Splendid Sidérale adventure - I subscribe to three watch magazines (and WATCH) and each one has "our" Portuguese Sidérale Scafusia as the December front cover.

I remember when I bought my 500104, may years ago I thought that IWC had just put together an exceptional watch - both in terms of technology and design.

However, to be honest while I've always kept an eye on what IWC were doing there was nothing that they made that had me lusting after another IWC. I loved the Ardoise dial on things like the St Exupery GMT but there was no watch that they produced since that was "just right".

Well, I've just had a look at the Siderale Scafusia and I'm absolutely blown away. A huge congratulations to IWC for producing something so technically incredible and getting the look of the watch absolutely right.

I was even ready to splash out until I noticed that the price was about half a million quid which is a bit rich for me unfortunately. Nevertheless I just felt I had to add my comments because I think that IWC have produced something amazing.
