I inherited from my grandfather a Schaffhausen pocket watch. I took it to a good and old watchmaker, he fixed what he could, now it's working really nice, and proper.
I would like to know the year of it's manufacture, and any available information.

Movement no.: 665025 H6
A third number is visible in the movement: 55231

Wow, that watch had a rough life, what happenend to the 4, the 7 and the 11? Maybe you should send the watch in to Schaffhausen, they could make the watch look like new. Not cheap, but probably worth while.

Your watch is a "calibre 52" (that's the type of movement) that was made, in your instance, in 1917 and probably delivered around 1919.

Paul: It's been dropped a few time, I guess. And the cooper under the enamel has been deformed. That's why the enamel cracked.
One more question: I do not want to sell it, but I'm interested in the value of it. What do you guess?
