Last night, several Forum members and a group of guests were invited to the London Boutique to participate in a conversation between the Good Doctors: David Seyffer and Andrew Thomas. The Doctors were introduced by the Forum's Big Pilot collector Thang Vo Ta (TeeVeeTee) and just in case he was needed to intervene, Forum Moderator, Tonny Berteloot, was on hand.

As the conversation developed, Andrew's highly infectious passion for IWC cam across to all in the room. He reconciled his passion for collecting IWC watches with the ground breaking work his teams are doing in important areas of medical research; his devotion to the work of the Laureus charity and his insane need to cycle over 10,000 km a year on some of the most demanding roads in Europe for any cyclist.

As is often the case at get togethers, there was some impressive hardware on show, including a Big Pilot that Andrew had brought from Switzerland, a collection of rare pocket watches belonging to Tonny and many interesting pieces on wrists or pulled out of collectors' watch cases.

It was a very enjoyable evening which was so much more about sharing the passion than the art of collecting. Thank you to Ciaran and his team at the London Boutique or making us very welcome and organising a splendid event.

Ralph, great photos - indeed it was a special evening and fun opportunity to spread the passion to a new audience.

Thanks to Ciaran and his team at the London Boutique for a job well done.

And to David and Andrew - it's great for me to continue to learn more about all things IWC.

Looking forward to the next one...

    Regards,
    Thang

That would have been a fantastic session to attend!

Thang - I remember you mentioning this idea earlier in the year. Great that it happened.

Andrew - truly wish I could have been there to hear more about your approach to collecting.

If the collectors or IWC ever make it to Australia for one of these sessions, sign me up!

A brilliant idea for a great event gents. That B-Uhr looks great, not on but outside, Andrew's wrist :-)
    Great group shot as well.

    Thanks for sharing Ralph!

I hope we will see more such events in the future!

These meetings are a wonderful side effect of collecting IWC watches, and frequently even more important as the watches proper.
Unfortunately the short lead time given for this one made it impossible to cancel existing plans. Perhaps next time.
    Thanks Ralph for sharing.

Well done London GTG team. Nice to see the happy faces.

The next big GTG will be June 17 in Amsterdam. Come one and come all. It's the fourth or fifth of the BBAMSGTGs.

Great report from London. Would have loved to be there and learn. Trip to Amsterdam GTG is planned. Can't wait.
