    Hello,
We moved into a new house and I discovered a box full of watches and parts. Apparently the previous tenant collected and maintained watches. I found a yellow Aquatimer, and while its likely a replica, I wanted to know how to tell if it is. I'm attaching a few pictures of it, hopefully someone can explain. Thanks

    A. I don't believe IWC made a yellow Aquatimer.

    B. The subdial placement and datewheel is clearly that of a quartz movement, not the automatic movements with day/date that you'd find in a genuine article.

    C. I'm guessing this thread will be deleted....

Ken --no deletion. It's clearly a fake as you've pointed out.

Timefend --spend some time searching the archives. Try words like Alcyone, and you'll see what real ones look like. Not like yours.

It's funny but a few days ago I received a private mail with the same content, just another watch (a PD Chrono fake).
The same heartbreaking story, the same reasons etc etc.
Who should believe that. Whoever found a box of watches behind the furniture which was obviously "forgotten"???
So Barry, or wharever is your name, why not telling us the simple truth?!?!?!?

Anyone who has seen real IWC's could immediately spot that as a fake. Almost everything is wrong with it.

As Mike suggested, search the archives or elsewhere to look at photos of real IWC's. The differences are obvious.

Thanks for the answers guys (except HANS GOERTER).The watches, as expected, were all replicas. Not all is lost though, as there were a couple of gold bands in the bag. Doing some more research + taking a look at a real Aquatimer in person, it looks like the proceeds of the gold bands will go towards buying myself a real one for Christmas.

    @ HANS GOERTER
The same heartbreaking story? I'm not completely sure how me finding a bag of random parts + watches is heartbreaking...and no, I haven't contacted you before or have any idea who you are. I don't even understand the point of your comment, as I'm not soliciting for anything, I just asking a simple question. There is no conspiracy to send you pictures of fake watches.
