Yesterday, my latest addition arrived, the Ocean 2000 black edition.
I love it. Here are some pics I quickly took this morning. The "normal" titan Ocean 2000 has a curved crystal, the Bunds have a flat crystal, and it is indeed like I have read in some articles about this one ; it has the flat crystal as well.
I also discovered that it is hard to take good pictures of the watch, the black often reflects light.
    Here they are, enjoy.

    Hello Tonny,

Congrats, another nice hunt. Wear it to receive 2012. I see the date is correctly and nicely set. The flat galss is caught so true. Thanks

Wow, congrats on that rare watch Tonny.

Hard to find information about it.

As far as I know, some early proto types were made by PD by ORFINA.

About 150 pieces were made for Porsche.

I have a catalog which shows one of the very rare pieces for the public market.

I am still looking for information about this one, with the second bracelet system.

MAYBE an extremly rare upgrade from the first bracelet system ?!

    Greetings

    Heiko

Congratulations Tonny. I hadn't known this model existed - so fully understand your instinctive decision to add it to your stunning collection.

Bill can give you some advice on the photo shots ;-)

For those who do not know, such as myself, the two types of bracelet, the first having a problem, what was the problem?

PD by IWC bracelets were improved over the years. Bracelet system 1 became very instable if it was worn permanently. The main reason was dirt at the surface of the connecting pins. This bracelet had only ONE connecting pin per link. An uncontrolled opening of the bracelet was the result.

Bracelet system 2 was equipped with TWO pins, but the result was similar to system 1.

But bracelet system 3/4 works fine with a sleeve / pin connection between the links.
