I hope this is ok to ask on the forum. As a single guy, just wondering how women generally feel about/react to IWC. Feel free to share any experiences

I can't speak for any other woman other than my wife...
...she thinks my IWC's look extremely nice, but always wonders why they cost so much to buy. (Actually, I don't think she really knows how much they REALLY cost... or else she would have taken my credit cards into custody :) ).
Except the ladies that I know from watch fora, they don't care one bit about the watches I wear, IWC or otherwise. My wife tolerates this foolishness of buying expensive watches once in a while, because she knows she will not get in any existential trouble because of it. Two reactions I got from ladies after telling them I bought a new watch:
- A Rolex? No? Oh, well...
- Oh, a black one, again.
If ever you would like to impress a lady, a watch is not the best start: I guess being funny and good looking is better, and after a while the idea that you are good with kids.
Kind regards,
Paul
Fully agree with Sunflower... That being said, now that my wife knows about my IWC addiction (and the fact that I bought her one too), she now regularly comments about how much character & originality IWCs have vs other watches. I recently showed her the Rolex Millgauss- she just dismissed it saying it looked very ordinary in comparison to the IWCs she knows :-)
I must agree with Sunflower.
However, it is also interesting to know how IWC addressed male customers in their advertising campaigns a few years ago.
Please don't blame me in showing one of their posters which one could admire after landing on Zürich airport. I might slightly differ from opinion but found it interesting to store them. There are about 30 different, almost all in German language.
Kind regards,
Adrian,

Let's wait for the women on the forum to answer this question ...
... What? There are no women?
Maybe this is a kind of an answer too ...
OK, your question was posted in another way:
What do the ladies think of YOUR IWC?
I think there are at least 2 important aspects of this questions:
1. What do they think of the watch itself - as a watch?
2. What do they think of you spending so much money on IWC watches?
All the women I've asked so far liked my watches on me, but almost none of them will understand how a man with my income will spend that amount of money on watches. But this is not just women. Men sometimes tell me the same.
I guess it depends on how you can understand an addiction like ours? ;-)
But most people like the individual character and class of (my) IWC watches.
Mrs E is quite happy to wear one of my IWCs from time to time. Generally, she favours elegance to tool watches. Portuguese and Portofinos are favoured over Pilots and Aquatimers and no Ingenieur manufactured since 1990 finds favour.
My wife did not has any interest with luxury watches before. Whatever it is Rolex or IWC ...etc. But her view was changed after she bought my first Yacht club this year (actually I let her wear this watch is most of time and I also told my wife that she can always wear this watch at the time we bought it ...), then she became also has interest in IWC too ... right now, the watch that she like the most is BP and she is planning to buy one in near future ...
I guess if you let your wife to enjoy the wearing of your IWC, you will get less resistance to but your new favorite in future ... haaaa :-)
A great approach, Edward, very clever.
But maybe you not only have great taste in watches but in woman too ;-)
Congratulations on both!!!
I second what Tilo said 100%
Go "try-on-shopping" a little bit, watch out for nice pairings an let the virus do the rest.
At least in my case it worked quiet well and my bank account is in an "alert-status" since then ;-)
Cheers Chris
Thank you Tilo and Mark for your greatest comment :-) I will share your comments with my wife ... haaaaa
Haha these answers are great!
When I got my CF Ingenieur two years ago, no one, guy or girl, noticed it at all.
True story.
The End.
Correction: Only one friend noticed, and he started to like watches because of me.

My wife had zero interest in watches when we met, sadly she now knows what a Rolex JLC are and she rather likes the PP Twenty4 series! She bought for my sixtieth birthday my Laureus VC Ingie, we only went in to the shop for a try on, honestly!
My wife, Marion's, first IWC was a ladies Mark XII, this was followed by the gold Portofino and then the midsize Ingenieur. Her latest wishlist is the Pilot 3240
Automatic 36. Between us we have 12 IWC watches, perhaps the latest will be our lucky 13th!!
Please, help!!!
After hesitating between the new rather nice looking Cartier Diver (stainless steel bracelet) and Rolex Daytone steel and gold, my wife finally decided on the Portuguieser Yacht club white dial (new 43,5mm). I had a little influence in her buying decision, but it was ultimately her call. Will have to order smaller rubber band and pin closing instead of folding clasp.
Right the next morning she started wandering the watch is wearing too big....I say it really looks stunning and very unique. Not to diminish the other options, specially de Daytona. It is certainly more likely to run into a lot of women wearing Daytonas, Cartiers, etc...than this YC. Which additional arguments could I use to convince in keeping it??? Tks for advice
let her have the Daytonas / Cartiers.. you can always keep the YC for your own....
Well you can always consider looking at watch personality like this...

Or

But it really doesn't matter... its general...
An interesting thought BHTAN, but would really like her to enjoy this new IWC universe....I think will come around , thank you

Please post some photos of the watch as it sits on your wife's wrist so we can tell you how great it looks!
