Hello to everyone, this is the information I have about the movement 30110 fitted in the Portofino old model:
IWC buys at ETA no complete movements, the movements are only bought in its components, never assembled. In addition, only the best possible version is purchased. Some components of the original ETA calibre´s are inmediately eliminated and are never used by IWC. The main parts IWC replaces are :
The mainspring, the barrel, the escape wheel, the pallet fork, the complete balance.
This is the information of the movement 30110.
I want to know if they make the same with the movement 35110 fitted in the new Portofino, the same I have.
I hope so, because if it is not true, it has no sense to pay almost 3000 euros for a watch wenn another makers fitt the same movement for around 1000.
I hope somebody can explain me that, thanks very much, best wishes Juan

    Juan,
I just got my protofino this summer. Will check & revert back on this. Else, the best is to ask the same to the customer service department on the IWC web-site. They are very friendly, helpful & revert back immediately.

I had a small issue (not pertaining to the watch) which was sorted out immediately. So i guess it would be better to get it straight from the horses mouth (as they say).

    Have a great day.

Hello MK , thanks for the answer, I´ll do as you say, but shall I send a normal email to the customer service in this IWC main page ?
The question is a technical one, I do not complain about the watch, it is very nice, one of the most beautiful and simple I have seen, what about yours ?
Are you glad with your Portofino ? Best wishes from Spain Juan Fernandez Vargas

    Tes Juan.

I got the watch from Switzerland this May. Have been eyeing this one for quite sometime now. Couldn't lay my hands on one.

Had to visit a few shops before I got mine on the last day there.

You can check out the watch in the discussion: my first IWC.

    Take care,
    MK.
